Entertainer, philanthropist, and bodybuilder, this guy needs no introduction, but if you want to understand how he’s able to accomplish so much, check out Arnold Schwarzenegger’s new book, Be Useful — Seven Tools For Life.

1.

Arnold describes his visions as “memories that haven’t happened yet.” About becoming Governor he said, “The picture in my mind was so clear you could have put a frame around it and hung it on the wall.”

2.

It’s not magic, but clarity. “I’m not saying if you just visualize what you want, then it will come true. Hell no. You have to plan and work and learn and fail. And then learn and work and fail some more. That’s just life. Those are the rules.”

3.

Get crystal clear on your vision. “If you want to increase the chances of success looking exactly like you hope it would, then you need to get crystal clear on that vision and tattoo it to the insides of your eyelids. You need to SEE IT.”

4.

Hope is not a strategy. “If you want to win, you need more than just ability and desire. You can’t hope your way into the winner’s circle. You need to see your way there.”

Many of these quotes and ideas come from Arnold Schwarzenegger’s remarkable book, Be Useful — Seven Tools For Life. Buy your copy right here.

5.

Forget good, focus on great. “As important to know why success looks like, it’s equally important to know what it doesn’t look like. There are a lot of things you can end up settling for in this world that will get you a knockoff version of your goals… if the mental picture you have of your life is even a little bit blurry.”

6.

With vision, all decision becomes binary. “With clarity, I have found, comes a sense of calm because almost every question becomes easier to answer.” Arnold turned down a $200k per year spokesman deal because he knew it would derail his potential movie star deal.

7.

Understand how you fit in. “Fuck your feelings, be useful” (from the documentary).
